Benjamin Moore’s 2020 Color of the Year Revealed

‘First Light’ is Benjamin Moore’s color of the year for 2020. ‘First Light’, a subtle but flattering rosy hue is a complete departure from Benjamin Moore’s color of the year in 2019, a neutral gray shade. With its cheery pink tones, this Benjamin Moore paint will transform any room in your home to a relaxing and joyful space. Its lightness and springtime feel is meant to capture the sense of optimism that people are searching for during this season. After a long process of deciding on the ideal Color of the Year, Benjamin Moore settled on a shade that reflects the start of a new decade, a new beginning, a new day; ‘First Light’.

According to Elle Decor, Andrea Magno, Benjamin Moore’s Director of Color Marketing and Development said, “We selected First Light 2102-70 as our Color of the Year 2020 to represent a new dawn of idealism, design and living.”

The fresh shade reminds us of the simplicity in life, steering our minds in the direction of what is most important.

“First Light 2102-70 reflects a new definition of the home—a shift in mindset from the material to satisfying the core needs in life: community, comfort, security, self-expression, authenticity and ultimately, optimism,” Magno continued.

First Light is also included in the Benjamin Moore Color Trends 2020 palette along with nine other complementary paint colors, hand-selected by the brand’s lead experts. According to Magno, the Color Trends 2020 palette’s role serves the purpose of supporting core human ideals such as hope and creativity. Color holds the power to alter how we feel in a given moment, existing with stark subjectivity through the lens of various cultures, age groups, and relationships. With Benjamin Moore’s Color Trends palette, ten bright, modern and calming colors come together to paint your house in magnificent shades that make up a perfect homey setting you will love.

The Color Trends 2020 palette features: White Heron OC-57; Crystalline AF-485; Windmill Wings 2067-60; Buxton Blue HC-149; Golden Straw 2152-50; Thunder AF-685; Cushing Green HC-125; Oxford Gray 2128-40; and Blue Danube 2062-30.
